The Customer Service Manager ensures that all customers who engage with JibJab Media Inc.’s various products (including both JibJab and StoryBots brands) have a world-class entertainment experience. You will provide problem-solving resources, driving results and productivity of the customer service team through effective management and communication. You will be responsible for a team of 6-30 (depending on peak cycles) customer service representatives and multiple vendors who will actively engage the customer base and provide support for the entire community of users.
You will apply your experience and judgment to the following specific responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement the vision, strategy and objectives for customer service team
  • Empower, motivate and inspire each team member to resolve all customer issues in a manner that exceeds expectations and leaves a “WOW” impression
  • Identify key areas of improvement and implement tailored customer service policies and procedures to address those areas
  • Improve quality results by studying, evaluating, and re-designing processes; establishing and communicating service metrics; monitoring and analyzing results; implementing changes
  • Hire, train, develop and manage customer service representatives to ensure knowledge, skill-set growth and optimal performance
  • Monitor communications and calibrate service levels of customer service team members
  • Proactively manage customer response times, ensuring best practices are met (and exceeded) for world class service standards
  • Establish and implement staffing and scheduling plans to ensure capacity is met, taking into consideration on and off-peak cycles
  • Represent the customer service team in executive and team meetings, providing detailed analytics as well as bringing the customer voice to life
  • Provide frequent reports of Guest-facing issues to the product teams and continually advocate for their timely resolution
  • Achieve customer service objectives by implementing production, productivity, quality, and customer-service standards; resolving problems; completing audits; identifying customer service trends; determining system improvements
  • Communicate known and new product issues and estimated resolution time to Guests
  • Communicate messaging for new products or product features to all support representatives who, in turn, will help disseminate that with our Guests
  • Review, approve and distribute contracts, invoices and reports from external support agencies
  • Provide leadership and support by answering questions and resolving difficult and complex situations
  • Assist with incoming customer service calls, emails, chat requests and support-related posts on social media as needed

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Min. 3-4 years of proven leadership and management experience of a customer service team required
  • Customer facing problem resolution experience
  • 5+ years of related professional experience required
  • Experience providing service in digital entertainment market, web and mobile app products, and/or e-commerce strongly preferred
  • Familiarity and expertise with vendors and services such as ZenDesk, Helpshift, Desk.com, SalesForce, Recurly, Litle, Paypal, etc.
  • Strong analytical skills
  • Intermediate to advanced Microsoft Office skills
  • Bachelor’s degree required
  • Ability to manage multi-shift schedule and work flexible hours with holiday availability and periodic weekends

Marketing Director – StoryBots

JibJab Media Inc. is looking for a talented Director of Marketing to accelerate the growth of its latest brand, StoryBots. Continuing JibJab Media’s legacy of laughter, StoryBots offers a collection of web and mobile apps for kids, ages 3-to-7, and their parents.

Responsibilities:

The Marketing Director will develop, manage and execute the brand, acquisition, retention and revenue optimization efforts for Storybots. This includes:

Collaborate with JibJab and StoryBots brand managers on communications calendar and content
Write copy and wireframe design requirements for email and in-app marketing campaigns
Submit and manage design and database requests as needed
Code, test, and implement email marketing campaigns
Compile and present weekly email and in-app marketing reports covering KPIs such as delivery, opens, clicks, unsubscribes, and revenue
Segment email marketing database effectively by writing and editing SQL (or coordinating SQL requests through database team) in order to meet business objectives
Ensure mailings launch successfully at scheduled times (often outside of typical business hours)
Monitor deliverability of email marketing campaigns and make adjustments for optimal performance
Manage in-app marketing campaigns such as push notifications, cross-sells, up-sells, and product updates for various JibJab and StoryBots apps
Plan, implement, and track A/B and multivariate tests for transactional, triggered, and marketing mailings and in-app campaigns
Execute bi-monthly email marketing audits to ensure accuracy of workflow and content
Update and refresh transactional, triggered, and lifecycle email marketing campaigns as needed
Proactively identify and report on performance trends amongst various audience segments for both email and in-app marketing programs
Update communication calendar and create Google Analytics annotations for historical reference as needed
Monitor, evaluate, and negotiate key vendor relationships
Keep current with industry innovations, trends, and best practices across functional areas
Ensure customer data policies and JibJab’s privacy policy are enforced

SPECIFIC SKILLS REQUIRED

Expert ability to code fluidly in standard and responsive layouts for email — from Photoshop to finished product
Familiarity and expertise with StrongView strongly preferred
Experience with both enterprise-level email marketing programs and in-app messaging tools (such as Localytics) preferred

Accounting Manager

JibJab Media Inc. is experiencing exciting growth in its eCard business and children’s line, StoryBots! As such, we are looking to add an Accounting Manager to our growing Finance & Operations team who will oversee Accounting activities and processes. Activities include general ledger accounting, financial reporting, accounts payable, tax, and internal control activities. This role will supervise two part time staff members.

Detailed Job Description/Responsibilities:
Ensure all financial records are in compliance with accepted policies and procedures and that all financial reporting deadlines are met.
Manage monthly and year end close processes to ensure accurate and timely reporting to management and external stakeholders.

  • Ensure integrity and reliability of financial records as administrator of the QuickBooks system. Maintain chart of accounts and ensure accurate, consistent and appropriate recording of revenues and expenses.
  • Prepare period financial statements. Review and approve account reconciliations-end journal entries prepared by staff and ensure reporting is accurate, efficient, and timely.
  • Manage the data collection and reporting requirements for royalty accounting.
  • Supervise Accounts Payable procedures and workflow involving purchase transactions, invoice approvals, payment disbursements, company credit cards, expense reports.
  • Verify and approve weekly AP runs
  • Research and provide guidance to ensure timely completion of local, state and federal tax schedules prepared by staff (includes, but not limited to, 1099-MISC distribution, filing sales tax returns, Property Tax filing, and withholding tax reporting as necessary). Coordinate and review tax returns prepared by outside accounting firm.
  • Prepare supporting schedules for financial audit and coordinate the audit process.
  • Maintain and improve accounting control processes. Ensure internal compliance with accounting and operational processes.
  • Ensure appropriate levels of confidentiality within the organization and exhibit the highest degree of personal and professional integrity
  • Ensure bank/financial vendor relationships best serve the company’s needs and interests
  • Occasional Operations support

    Production Technology Operations – PostgreSQL DBA

    Responsibilities:

    • The right candidate will have skills to design the PostgreSQL databases for 24×7 high availability production e-commerce services, review the SQLs for performance tuning and deploy an optimum data protection approach.
    • Lead the maintenance of Production PostgreSQL Database in a clustered highly available architecture.

    What you’ll need:

    -At least 3 years of experience building dynamic websites using web application frameworks using Ruby, Python, Perl, or another dynamic programming language.
    -A firm grasp of web application basics: HTTP, SSL, cookies, database access, browser quirks, and so on.
    -Experience using standard web technologies: HTML, CSS, JSON, AJAX, JavaScript, and JavaScript libraries.
    -The ability to look at C and syntactically similar languages (C++, Java, and Objective-C) and still have some sense of what’s going on in the code.
    -An appreciation for clarity in both database schema design and object-oriented design.
    -Total comfort on a Unix command line.
    -A positive attitude is an absolute must, along with strong verbal and written communication skills. We work in small teams, which makes working well together that much more important. We’re not a huge company: cross-department communication is a fact of life.

    Nice to haves:

    -Interest and/or experience with emerging technologies such as NoSQL databases or Node.js.
    -Experience with the Rails asset pipeline and CSS preprocessors such as Sass or LESS.
    -Experience integrating with payment systems, either web or mobile: PayPal, Recurly, Stripe, and so on.
    -Experience developing mobile web applications, iOS apps, or native desktop apps.
    -Examples of open source projects (on GitHub or elsewhere).

    The successful Product Manager candidate will have experience bringing web and mobile products to market.  Product Managers help to define the roadmap for new and current products as well as ensure every detail in the product experience delights our customers.  Beyond writing requirements and user stories for features, you will work with a wide variety of internal groups—engineers, UI designers, marketing, sales, and services – in the full range of the product development and management cycle.  You must possess excellent communication and interpersonal skills, a passion for and knowledge of technology and user experience, and a quantitative focus.

    Required skills and experience:

    -          Understanding of web analytics platforms, such as Omniture and Google Analytics
    -          Understanding of principles of User Experience
