Scene 30 brought us back to the nighttime Mayan jungle. The challenge for Alex was to paint the forest with enough detail to read properly, but not so much as to overtake the focus from the main Mayan characters. Since the sky took up so much screen space, clouds were added to add interest to what would otherwise be a very plain & flat background. Colors were also subdued and kept to blue so that the bright red characters and the flaming asteroid could pop against the background.
