Animating a bouncy butt is about the most fun you can have as an animator! The animator for this scene also spent some time watching YouTube tutorials on how to twerk, which she swears was purely for ‘research’.

After this scene was animated, we decided Miley could do with a makeover to look even more Miley. Luckily, the artist had set up the design files so expertly, it was easy to swap out assets in After Effects to update to the new character design. That’s the great thing about having a solid After Effects pipeline!
