I had the awesome opportunity to work on the Grand Theft Auto shot. It was decided early on that the shot should be done in 3d but done in a low poly style that was a nod to retro video game graphics. GTA 5 itself has very beautiful graphics which made it fun reducing one of the main characters down to a very crude look. The number at the top of the screen is a nod to how much insane amount of money the game made so fast.
