This scene was a fun little excursion in setting up the characters in groups to avoid animating 18 characters individually. For each of the 3 rows, the rotation of the character’s head and body were connected to a single controller. Some simple After Effects scripting was used to offset the head rotation on some characters to keep it a little more organic. The mouths were all linked to a single controller as well. The arms had to be done individually but other than that, much time was saved on this crowd shot!
