Before you build a house you use a blueprint…likewise before you start an animation you use an animatic! This part of the process serves as a guide to help the layout/character artists design the shots, tells the animators what to animate, and helps set the pace/timing of the overall short, letting us know what works and what doesn’t. Before being completely happy, there were at least 9 versions of the animatic that were created. Here’s a glimpse at where we were around version number 7!
