Techno Jumper
Welp, Skyler had these Power Strider spring-loaded-stilt-legs delivered to the JibJab offices. Needless to say, they deserved a test-run in our parking lot. He took them down to Venice beach where a local dubbed him “Techno Jumper”. We think the name fits well.

Goodbye, Mr. Cook
Alan Cook, artist, animator and Canadian extraordinaire is leaving JibJab this week, headed to Oregon. His foot print on the site is massive and we will miss him dearly. In his honor, we all took to sketching our own little rendition of Alan in a book we presented to him on Friday. Some of our…

JibJab Does Our Laundry???
We had a big team meeting today where we went over our three year plan (can you say AWESOME things on the horizon?). Not to brag (ok, we’re bragging a little) but right at the end of the meeting, Gregg instilled a new office policy. On Mondays, if JibJab employees bring in their dirty laundry,…

Still Feeling the Force
Star Wars Starring You is still going strong and we’re still feeling the force in the studio… namely due to the ten or so cardboard cut outs we’ve strategically placed around every corner. It took us a few months to get used to their silhouettes hanging around (every once in a while when closing up…

Updating/Downloading The Star Spangled Banner
We revisited more than one piece for the Fourth of July this year… in 2008, when we offered our collaboration with ThePartyParty.com as an Independece Day eCard, it featured footage of presidents from the past century, sliced up to sing us a rendition of “The Star Spangled Banner”. After a few years passed on our…

The Doc Side
We passed around a google doc for organizational purposes while tackling the massive project of turning three films worth of footage into a ‘Starring You’ movie. As you can see, it’s pretty intense and colorful, but it does wonders with keeping the project organized, tracked and looping in everyone involved. This doc for “Return of…

An Awesome Addition and a Major Loss
We wanted our offices to reflect the awesomeness that Star Wars: Starring You has brought to our site, so we bestowed a challenge upon one of our craftiest co-workers. Devin was asked to create a mega sized Millennium Falcon to hang in our tech suite, and boy did he step up to the plate. Click…

CupCake De Mayo
Yesterday we celebrated Cinco De Mayo as traditionally as one can, with tequila, cervezas and a giant cupcake pinata. Too bad our parking lot doesn’t have any trees.

The Making of a Musical Kitchen!
We took our puppeteering aspirations to another level with “Musical Kitchen” our latest Mother’s Day extravaganza, creating a series of kitchen based creatures that could sing, dance and clean! But getting to that point took several incarnations of video. First up, Andy scratched out his concept with some free style beatboxing. From there we put…
